Inspections

Ofsted Inspection

Our school was last inspected by Ofsted in November 2022. Some strengths noted in the report include:

  • Pupils are happy to be at the school and feel safe. This is because they know that staff care about them and look after them well..

  • Early reading and phonics are coherently sequenced. There are clear expectations for what pupils should know and by when.

  • Key Stage 2 pupils read more fluently and confidently. This is because the support they receive happens more frequently.

  • Pupils actively contribute to the life of the school through being a ‘prayer partner’ or being on the school council. Play leaders support younger pupils to stay active at playtimes.

  • The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

Catholic Schools Inspection

Our Catholic Schools Inspectorate (CSI) was completed in May 2026, when we were judged to be a good in all areas.

Summary of the key findings were:

  • The mission of the school, following the words of Blessed John Henry Newman, ‘Shine so as to be a light to others,’ is clearly evident in the daily life of the school. It is understood and lived by pupils, staff and governors, underpinning relationships and guiding actions across the school community.
  • Staff and governors ensure that pupils are supported within a highly nurturing, inclusive and faith filled environment, where they are valued as individuals and encouraged to grow spiritually, morally and academically. A strong sense of community and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching is evident throughout the school.

  • Leadership is a significant strength of the school, with a clear vision that is driving ongoing improvement. Leaders ensure that Catholic life remains central and that the school fully meets all diocesan and national requirements.

  • Religious Education is well led and continuing to improve. Pupils engage positively, make good progress and develop confidence in their knowledge and use of religious vocabulary, with further work planned to deepen thinking and challenge.

  • Collective Worship is central to school life, with prayer embedded into daily routines. Pupils participate enthusiastically and take an active role in planning and leading liturgy, demonstrating growing confidence and understanding of the importance of prayer in their daily lives.
